In this section we look at the basic dictation software that SRC implement to the majority of customers, which is based on the WinScribe system. The software is essential a workflow solution which is proven to automate dictation and transcription processes and save valuable time and money.

Dictation workflow

The dictation solution provided by SRC, enables work to be transferred from author to secretary more efficiently.

The dictation workflow enables dictations to be automatically transferred (from the author to the typist) and prioritised based on criteria, such as job types, user, type of work, team, location, or other specifications.



Based upon these criteria the worflow routes the dictation and makes it available to the most appropriate secretary or secretaries, including those who may be located in other offices or working from home. This may also include a document production centre, outsourced transcription service or speech recognition engine.

In addition, the software can be used to ensure existing working relationships between an author and secretary are maintained and dictations transferred to a specific typist.

Dictation workflow empowers secretaries to select and process the most urgent work, taking into account their current workload and that of their colleagues. The system also ensures that jobs are constantly prioritised based upon their pre-defined turnaround times meaning that the most urgent jobs are easily identified. This feature eliminates the need for transcriptionists to manually identify the most urgent work and means that authors can be confident that dictations will be typed and completed on time.
