SRC’s speech recognition solution to help London Borough of Lambeth legal department
London, 20 February 2009 - SRC, the leading provider of document creation solutions, today announced they will be deploying a speech recognition solution to the legal department at the London Borough of Lambeth. The Speech Recognition solution is integrated with the WinScribe digital dictation solution, which has already been deployed by SRC. The solution will enable fee earners to produce and complete documents by speaking directly into their PCs.
As a result of integrating the solution with WinScribe, fee earners will be able to take advantage of workflow functionality and automatically transfer drafted text and voice files to secretaries for correction and completion. Lambeth legal department is hoping that the solution will save significant amounts of time and help improve document turnaround times.
Gerard Kamath, Project Leader at the London Borough of Lambeth said: “We are under constant pressure to speed up document production times especially when working against court deadlines, which can be extremely tight. To complicate matters we do not have access to masses of secretarial resource. By adopting speech recognition we are aiming to enable all our fee earners to create documents as they are dictated, in real-time, for a significant proportion of their work. One of the main reasons for contracting with SRC in the first place was their ability to provide a complete package, which included a variety of technologies and integration options. They are also able to provide us with the services to rapidly deploy solutions and train users to streamline dictation and transcription times.”
