SRC launches electronic patient handover list solution
London, 22 March 2010 - SRC, provider of document creation and clinical information systems, today introduced its electronic patient handover solution. This solution simplifies the handover of patient’s notes between teams of junior doctors and nurses.
The SRC Handover solution fully integrates with hospital’s PAS and other systems in order to extract data regarding the patient. The NHS CUI compliant web based interface, allows doctors and nurses to add further information and instructions and provides a clear and customisable view. This provides a comprehensive patient summary which includes:
- Admission data
- Alert icons for drug allergies, MRSA, medically unstable patients and DNAR
- Diagnosis
- Treatment plans and procedures
- Nursing care instructions
- Test results
- Urgent tasks/jobs.
Access to the information can also be filtered depending upon the needs of the individual users. The system can also be extended to cover bed management and discharge planning activities.
The SRC Handover solution is part of SRC’s clinical information toolkit and can be fully integrated with SRC’s Electronic Discharge Summary (eDS) solution. This enables a common system to be used to meet handover list, discharge summary and other clinical information requirements.
Chris Hart, CEO at SRC said: “By expanding our range of solutions, we are able to provide customers with efficiency and patient care gains throughout not only the document creation process but along the complete patient pathway. By harnessing the latest web based technologies, the solutions provide a very cost effective answer to the clinical information challenges within today’s NHS hospitals.”
The solution, which is based upon technology developed by Bluewire Technologies, a UK specialist in electronic clinical software, is already in use with NHS Hospitals and is available for immediate deployment.
