SRC and ScribeTECH collaboration already improving efficiencies at NHS Trusts
London, 4 January 2010 - SRC and ScribeTECH, today announced they are providing an innovative document creation solution that connects the market leading digital dictation solution from SRC with premier offshore Medical Transcription services from ScribeTECH. The solution, which is already improving productivity at a major University Hospital Trust, enables Trusts to provide a dictation and transcription service which automatically and securely sends dictations to either internal typing teams or ScribeTECH, using a common standard user interface.
The solution is built upon the WinScribe digital dictation system together with SRC’s Outsource Manager application. By combining internal and external resources, Trusts are able to provide a 24 hour, 7 days a week typing facility to optimise document turn around times and to minimise transcription costs.
To simplify and reduce user intervention the solution automates the transfer of dictations to typists. Clinicians dictate using the WinScribe digital dictation application, via a range of recording devices including digital portable recorders, telephones, PDAs and Blackberry Smartphones, regardless of whether their work is to be typed internally or by ScribeTECH. As the solution automatically uploads dictations to ScribeTECH, administrators are able to spend less time managing the workflow.
The solution also enables users to monitor progress as work is transcribed through the same common user interface. In the case of work that is outsourced, the SRC solution ensures that all confidential patient information is removed prior to sending for transcription. The SRC Outsource Manager then automatically assembles the draft letter or document ready for approval as soon as the typed text is returned.

SRC and ScribeTECH have both been appointed as suppliers under a four year framework agreement with the NHS Yorkshire and Humber Collaborative Procurement Hub (YHCPC).
