SRC Moves Into Europe as Plesner Becomes First Danish Law Firm to Roll Out WinScribe Digital Dictation
London - 6 September 2006 - Plesner, one of Denmarks largest law firms, has become the first to roll-out the WinScribe digital dictation system, after a pilot project delivered immediate benefits to its staff and business. Plesner chose SRC, Europes exclusive WinScribe Platinum Partner, to supply and deploy the solution to its 285 staff in Copenhagen. The SRC deployment at Plesner, together with recent deployments to law firms in Brussels and Moscow, demonstrates SRCs capability to deliver high-quality document creation solutions throughout Europe.
Before selecting the WinScribe system from SRC, Plesner ran an extensive tender process which evaluated all the major digital dictation systems.
Lars Tølle, Plesner IT manager said, Providing a rewarding and flexible working environment for all staff is central to our approach, so the ability for the digital dictation system to support remote working was a crucial factor in the evaluation. Not only do our lawyers need to be able to work away from the office, but on occasion a number of secretaries also need to work from home. With our old analogue tape system both these options were impossible.
WinScribe was the only system that could meet our stringent remote working requirements. The combination of reliable, proven support for connection via Citrix with a range of flexible input methods and a unique approach to workflow that encourages team working clearly marked WinScribe out as the best system. Since piloting the system at the beginning of 2006 weve not looked back; our staff are delighted with the flexibility that WinScribe provides. Not only have they become more efficient, theyre also working as a more cohesive team and are more productive when out of the office, continued Mr Tølle.
To dictate work, Plesner lawyers use Philips SpeechMike II Pro devices in the office and Olympus DS-4000 handheld recorders when working remotely. Dictations recorded on the DS-4000 are uploaded to the WinScribe system using WinScribe Web Uploader, a unique feature that allows files to be securely uploaded via any Internet enabled computer, regardless of location and without the need for any software. In addition, staff have access to WinScribe telephone dictation, which allows them to dictate anywhere, anytime via a landline or mobile phone.
As part of the deployment process SRC provided a full range of services to Plesner, including conformance testing and installation, training, and go-live support. SRC provides 24x7 support to the firm as part of its Platinum Plus support package. The deployment also included the provision of a Danish language user-interface option for the WinScribe system.
Commenting on this milestone, Chris Hart, SRC CEO said, The successful deployment of the SRC digital dictation solution to Plesner clearly illustrates SRCs commitment to delivering the highest-quality, best-value document creation solutions to clients in the UK and throughout Europe.
International firms are now taking advantage of the flexibility of the fully networked SRC solution to provide digital dictation facilities throughout their organisations. For example, CMS Cameron McKenna has extended the SRC solution throughout its UK office and several other European offices, Baker & McKenzie has deployed a solution in London and Manila, and Exigent is providing outsourced transcription services utilising an SRC solution deployed in the UK, South Africa and Australia.
Were excited to be expanding our European business. The combination of world-leading, best-of-breed technology and SRCs unique experience and deployment methodology make the SRC solution an unrivalled choice for UK and European law firms alike, Mr Hart continued.
